Chef Bell's goal is to engage his peers, chefs, in communities, regions and provinces Coast to Coast to Coast through education and awareness for the future of sustainable seafood. To create a movement which, within in the next 10 years, allows every Canadian to easily and readily access sustainable seafood for themselves and their families. The hope is that as the sustainable seafood movement continues to grow, environmentally responsible procedures will become firmly rooted as standard methods in future generations.
Earth Bites was founded by the Rocky Mountain Flatbread Co. in 2007 in order to help connect kids with their food, because they believe teaching future generations about local food growth & nutrition is essential to creating sustainable food systems. They are offering informative cooking & gardening classes for adults and 100% of the profits will go to EarthBites -- connecting more kids with their food.
We are proud to be a premier sponsor for this amazing event that exemplifies how food can bring people together and build stronger neighbourhoods. All of the funds raised during Fernwood bites go towards their family programs, affordable housing, and urban sustainability projects at the Fernwood Community Centre and throughout Fernwood.
Growing Chefs! Chefs for Children’s Urban Agriculture gets kids excited about good, healthy food. Their mission is to educate children, families, and community members about healthy eating and healthy food systems through classroom gardening and cooking programs in elementary schools. In their program, chef volunteers are paired with Grades 1-3 classrooms for the primary program and Grades 4-6 classrooms for the intermediate program to give students hands-on gardening and cooking experience.
